Simon is a mining leader with over 25 years of domestic and international experience across operational, commercial, technical and statutory roles. His experience spans owner, contractor and advisory environments, with a strong track record in operational leadership, mining services, major projects, contract management and business improvement.
At Enable, Simon directs Enable’s contribution to the Santa Rita Underground Project’s mining-services procurement for Atlantic Nickel and Appian. His work includes tender strategy, scope and contract development, tender evaluation, contractor engagement, commercial alignment, and mobilisation and operational-readiness planning.
Simon’s experience includes:
- Leading mining-services procurement and contract development for a major underground mining project.
- P&L responsibility for more than A$1 billion of contracted mining services across Australian operations.
- Negotiating more than A$500 million in new contracts and extensions.
- Leading corporate underground mining and drill-and-blast technical functions.
- Developing and implementing in-house drill-and-blast services across Australian mining operations.
- Mobilising and ramping up major underground mining projects in Australia and internationally.
- Managing mining, maintenance and coal-processing operations under a major Queensland coal contract.
- Leading operational, technical and functional teams across Australia and internationally.

Simon holds a Bachelor of Engineering in Mining from the University of Queensland and is a Graduate of the Australian Institute of Company Directors. His statutory qualifications include a Queensland Coal Mine Site Senior Executive Certificate and a Western Australian First Class Mine Manager’s Certificate.
