Marie Jones is a mining engineer with technical and practical knowledge of underground metalliferous mining from her 18 years of experience across various underground mining methods and geographic locations (Australia, West Africa and Europe). With a focus on operational change she has expertise across the breadth of mining engineering disciplines and demonstrated ability to provide forward thinking, practical and safety-centred solutions to operational challenges.
Marie has technical and operational expertise in tailings reclamation and can provide guidance on the definition of resources and reserves, operational readiness and management of sub-aqueous tailings reclamation operations (dredging).
Marie’s experience includes:
- Whole of project support for sub-aqueous tailings reclamation (dredging) from resource and reserve definition to operations management
- Study definition, co-ordination and management to provide effective solutions to complex mining challenges both pre and post processing
- Operational readiness support and management of technical services for new and re-starting underground operations in Australia and West Africa
- Identifying, planning and driving change in technical services activities to improve safety and production outcomes for underground operations
Marie holds membership with the AusIMM and is recognized as a Chartered Professional Engineer.
