Jonathan Santin

Jonathan is a mining engineer with experience spanning various operational and technical capacities in both underground and open-pit metals. During his tenure at Cannington mine in Queensland, he was involved in medium and short-term mine planning roles. His various other site-based roles encompassed mine scheduling, drill & blast design, ventilation and project management.
His experience includes:
- Underground Operations – Narrow Vein & Sub-Level Open Stoping
- Base Metals, Precious Metals
- Mine Planning (short and medium-term planning)
- Experience with multiple mining software packages (Deswik (Process Maps, UGDB, ASD, MSO, IS), VentSim, Surpac, ShotPlus)
- Implementation and rollout of Deswik.MDM at Cannington
- Implementation and rollout of the Minnovare’s Production Optimiser system at Cracow
- Reduction in bogged backfill dilution through the implementation of grouted backfill pillars at Cracow
- Pillar Recovery at Pajingo Gold Mine using Grouted Consolidated Mullock
Jonathan holds membership with the AusIMM and is recognized as a Registered Professional Engineer Queensland (RPEQ) and a Chartered Professional (Mining).
