Paul is a fully qualified Chartered Accountant with 5+ years’ experience, including site-based mining roles.
Paul graduated with a double degree in Bachelor of Economics and Bachelor of Accounting from the Australian National University.
Paul’s experience includes:
• Coordination of Life of Mine financial plans, annual budgets, forecasts: built a first principles cost model for a North Queensland hard rock underground mine that was used to inform a Pre-Feasibility study and guide the leadership team on strategic direction as well as challenge/influence site leadership on cost control.
• Development of financial reporting tools with a focus on driving efficiencies and financial performance: full scale transformation from identification through to evaluation of BHP Operation Services Reporting suite from manual excel files to Power BI, providing extensive time savings and greater insight into monthly performance
• Preparation of EOM financial and management accounts with a focus on identifying cost savings and actions to drive performance: proactively identified and created revised methodology for fuel tax rebate calculations resulting in a $0.25M pa saving for a mine site.
